The actual release date for AutoCAD 2018 has yet to be announced, so at the moment we don't have release schedule for the next CADView version which might support AutoCAD 2018 file format.

I bought my version 11.1 last summer (July / August). Can I upgrade to 12 without extra costs?

The upgrade from one major version to another is paid, so, to be able to use version 12, you will need to purchase the upgrade license.
