How to register ABViewer Floating license
- Download CST Floating License Server at: http://cadsofttools.com/download/floating.zip
- Install the software for floating licenses on the server: unzip the floating.zip archive and run setup.exe.
- Run the Administration Console for CST License Server in one of the following ways:
- In the Windows notification area click with the right mouse button the CST License Server icon. In its context menu click Administrator

- In the Start menu go to All Programs > CADSoftTools Floating License Server > Administration Console
- In the opened Administration Console window select the Applications tab.
- Click the Add button. The window where you should select the application will appear.
- Select the required program from the Application drop-down list. E.g. ABViewer 11 Professional.

- Enter your registration key into the Key field and click OK. The information on the license will be displayed in the Applications tab.
Please note!: CST Floating License Server must not be blocked by the Firewall. You should allow this application access to the network. For example, in Windows 7 you should follow these steps:
- Log on to the system as administrator.
- Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Windows Firewall.
- In the left part of the window click Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.
- Click the Change settings button.
- Click the Allow another program button.
- Specify the path to the license server: “C:\Program Files (x86)\CADSoftTools\Floating License Server\CST_LicenseServer.exe” and add the program.
- Click OK.

- Install ABViewer on end-user computers and register it in one of the following ways.
Method 1. Register ABViewer on each end-user computer.
- At the top right corner of the program click the Help button > in the opened menu choose Register Floating License:

- Activate the Use Floating License Server check box > In the Host entry field enter the server host name or its IP address, e.g. “192.168.0.1” > Select the required application in the App drop-down list, e.g. ABViewer 11 Professional > Click OK.

Method 2. Add information to the registry using the *.reg file.
Using this method you don’t need to enter the registration data into the ABViewer Floating License window on each end-user computer:
- Go to the unzipped floating folder.
- Depending on your system bitness choose the required *.reg file in the x32 or x64 folder, e.g. ABViewer11_Professional_Floating.reg and open it in Notepad or any other text editor.
- Replace the “127.0.0.1” Host with your computer name or its IP-address.
- Run ABViewer11_Professional_Floating.reg on all end-user computers.
- In Administration Console for CST License Server go to the Connections tab and click Refresh. After it all the connected PCs will be displayed.

Method 3. Registration in terminal systems where it is not possible to add information to the registry.
- Go to the unzipped floating folder.
- Depending on your system bitness choose the required *.reg file in the x32 or x64 folder, e.g. ABViewer11_Professional_Floating.reg and open it in Notepad or any other text editor.
- Replace the “127.0.0.1” Host with your server computer name or its IP-address.
- Copy the corresponding *.reg file to the folder where ABViewer is located:
- for 32-bit: c:\Program Files (x86)\CADSoftTools\ABViewer 11
- for 64-bit: c:\Program Files\CADSoftTools\ABViewer 11
Change the name of the copied *.reg file in accordance with the purchased license:
- ABviewer_Enterprise_Floating
- ABViewer_Professional_Floating
- ABViewer_Standard_Floating
- Run ABViewer.
- In the Administration console for CST License Server go to the Connections tab and click the Refresh button. After it all the connected PCs will be displayed.
